Hi. Happy baseball season!
Is this what it feels like to get out of rehab and relapse?
WOO baseball! Of course, there’s a fly in every ointment….
So excited that they’re going to skip a week of games. Brilliant. Is this so they can spend more time dissecting Timmeh’s issues?
wait, is something the matter with Timmeh? Can you tell me more?
They’re making a movie about it, starring him and Rachel Maddow. It’s called “The Talented Mr. Lincecum.”
I love that movie.
Wait, wtf? Now I am angry.
You have serious mood swings.
Well I was happy about the start of ST games and I was looking forward to listening to it. Then I find out I can’t. I feel pretty justified in this anger.
Honestly, I agree. I love listening to a game on the radio, when the announcers are good.
Thanks to whoever fixed this. How did you do it?
Just paste the twitter url onto its own line in the FK comment box.
I was using the embed info. Thanks.
On a one-hour delay starting at 1:00 PM according to the printed Chron listings.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
I think he’ll win RoY this year.
And MVP.
Now I want to know how the at-bat turned out…2-2 count, two outs, runners on second and third, and the pitcher presumably right at the end of his work for the day.
Strikeout is a good bet.
that was in the first. no strickout in that ab, but left runners on
Future Ed lives!
fucking three trials back to back to back
Good to see ya, hombre. In the off-season you can of course give your clients your full attention, but come April you need to start copping more plea deals.
srsly
That’s the joy of civil practice. 99% settle!
having beers at the office after my last verdict yesterday I mentioned to a coworker that I had stopped watching top chef after restaurant wars because I have been too busy to watch tv, and my boss said “yeah, you have been working hard”
so that was good
Indeed. How did the trials go?
all losers.
Hopefully we can beat the offer at sentencing.
We won’t for the last one, the offer was good, and its a felon with a gun case with three prior prison commitments. I think he bought himself an extra 3 years of custody time.
Ick. Did you think they were winners, or just that the other two offers sucked?
one I thought was a winner, but there was no real offer. 2nd bad offer, third, I had an argument, but it was an uphill battle (picture of the guy in a stolen truck is kinda bad news for the possession of a stolen truck count)
the one that i thought was a winner, i lost a key in limine. tried to get around it, but failed.
I think it is a good appeal issue
What kind of in limine? Abuse of discretion is a nasty standard unless you’ve got a clean legal issue.
That said, my upcoming oral argument features a 5th Amendment exclusion that wasn’t right, and that’s not even abuse of discretion in the first place.
Heh. I’d never heard the word limine and thought it was just another one of your auto-corrected typos for limousine.
the in limine was a pretty straight forward pre miranda custody interrogation statement, I thought.
Guy is pulled out of car, handcuffed, pat searched for weapons, pills are found and he is asked a question. he answered. Its what the jurors said sunk me.
Can you use their statements on appeal?
Is the ruling abuse of discretion there, or some better standard?
what is a key in limine?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_in_limine
@nm I don’t know off the top of my head. if it is error, its not harmless.
As for the jury statements, I believe they are only available on a habeas pettition for misconduct or something. I don’t think this rises to that level.
@DFA “in limine” motions are pre trial motions that guide what evidence can and cannot be admitted during a trial.
When I saw “Chocolate-dipped Key Lime Pie on a Stick” in Key West the other day I realized I had fallen in to the ultimate tourist trap.
mmmm Pie on a stick
trials are fun. Big rush, lots of energy expended.
lots of trials in a row suck
Yeah. Downside to civil work is that I’ve had one arbitration total in my entire career.
whenever there is a civil trial in one of the criminal courtrooms, its hard not to try to pat the civil attorneys on the head that seem so uptight about the courtroom
Fair. Of course a loss is a much bigger career deal when you never get trials.
right, and the stakes are always super high from the get go.
Also, most of my friends ask me legal questions I have no possibility of answering.
We do a program where we send people to the DA’s office for six months, and they come back blown away by how things we spend six months on (like in limines) are dealt with in minutes off the cuff.
pffft, cite checking? SHepardizing? its prolly still good law, right?
what is shepardizing?
shepardizing is the act of checking to see if a particular point of law has been overturned or disfavored.
So, if I was trying to argue that seperate but equal education was legal and I wanted to cite Plessy v Ferguson, I would look up what cases have cited this one and see if there was anything that overturned it.
Prior to computers and databases, there was a service run by a guy named Sheppard that published books that did that for you. The was a complicated coding system that made you jump from book to book to discover if PLessy was still good law.
The legal community verbified his name to “Shepardizing”
PS, the clerk in my last case complimented me for using “McGuivered” as a verb in my cross examination of a witness
I love the use of McGuivering
I, too, would like to compliment you on the use of that phrase.
That’s why I only ever ask you search and possession and intoxication questions. In your wheelhouse.
Ive done more than that and Im not even a lawyer!
Sure, but did you represent a defendant being sued for $40M+ and obtain a judgment in your favor for nearly $10M?
I don’t work for the man
Both sides of that one were the man (though not really, small case)
I like to watch man on man violence and laugh.
and one more thing, I am sure the elizabeth warren smackdown was covered here, it was awesome.
One thing I wanted to point out, my clients often say “lets take this to trial, they’ll give me a better deal just before the jury gets seated because they don’t want to waste all that money on a stupid trial like this one.”
I always tell them , no, in fact they prosecutor doesn’t give a shit about the money, they will stop pursuing this when you do.
I can’t imagine running an agency that never goes to trial.
It’s easy to imagine when the downside is “you just lost your company”
Why is that the SEC’s problem? a bad company goes out of business.
Whoops. Thought we were talking about me saying we always settle.
SEC is a different issue.
Private industries settling makes sense. The government, much less so.
Depends on the situation. DOJ Antitrust often gets exactly what they want in settlements.
yeah, your cases for sure, trials are risky business. Too easy to get trial fever and not see the downsides of your case.
Pop-up
best part of the first was Michael Young fail
but it was mighty high
Love the new unis
also carter looks like a bad man
When it comes right down to it, that’s the real reason losing him is hard for me to take. Your team just looks much more badass when Chris Carter is on it.
He looks like a much bigger, mean Snoop
Thanks, and go As.
He has a great mustache.
Totally
The logo looks as if it were a blog on SB Nation, though
That just looks wrong.
So which of you FKers with Gameday radio or access 1140 AM is going to devote every second of a three hour stretch providing us with full pitch by pitch descriptions and accounts of the game without the express written consent of Major League Baseball? I’d contribute to your legal defense fund.
I’m just going to listen to the Dead marathon on KPFA instead.
And will you be transcribing the accounts and descriptions for us? “If you listen really closely at the 14:22 mark of this Dark Star–>Drums–>Space–>Dark Star jam you can hear where Brent knocks over the keyboard and Mickey picks up and sustains the feedback reverb beat for another six minutes.”
If there’s a pregame show MLB.com isn’t carrying it, just dead air at the moment. Dang, I’ve gone over 4 months without a “How great is it?” question.
What the FK is 95.7 carrying on a February Saturday afternoon that would supercede the A’s? Do they have college basketball or is it just some generic network talk show?
Flagship station!
The A’s have always had minimal spring radio coverage as long as I can remember. Usually nothing until the second week, then mostly only weekends until the last week or two. While it may be lame, this is not a new failing by 95.7.
I can understand not wanting to produce the broadcasts at all, especially on a weekday afternoon when almost no one can listen. But if there’s a broadcast to air, it’s pretty weak of the flagship not to carry it.
Good point. They’re airing generic espn radio network stuff now; I would assume there’s no contractural obligation for them to do so.
Oddly, the top-of-the-hour station ID on the MLB.com broadcast just identified the station as 95.7 The Game, so they must be producing the broadcast for the network stations in San Francisco, but the station isn’t carrying the game. I bet they do have a contractual obligation to carry the ESPN programming through the end of February.
So you’re saying it’s institutional ineptitude?
Not a new failing, no. But a continuing one. And the passage of time isn’t making the failure to cover the team as a flagship should any less moronic or contemptible.
Should I spare my contempt for other worthy things? Probably. I thought that perhaps last season might’ve made a difference.
yeah, coming off last season the need to push the team with the wind at their back
Yeah like perhaps have a fking commercial for tickets on your flagship station which sells tickets for the team accross the bay like 4x an hour?
They have a huge ad budget. There’ve been a couple of times when I’ve been on 95.7 and heard the gravelly-voiced announcer say “If you were here, you know…” and lunged for the dial, only to find the ad finishing up on KCBS, “together, we’re…”CLICK. It’s more repellent than 1-877-KARS-for-KIDS.
The Giants have great fucking advertising. Its incredible. It builds solidarity loyalty and familiarity all in a commercial.
The A’s have silence.
You would think that the team that has won 2 WS in 3 years wouldn’t need to advertise, and the one that has been mostly shitty for a half decade would spend a lot trying to get people in the park.
Logic, it’s a bitch.
It is a good ad campaign. Which is why I have the same reaction to it that EM does.
“flagship”
Thanks, and go As.
Money is money. It isn’t the station’s fault, though I guess they could be running their own ads to boost their own broadcasts, but the A’s should be ponying up for it.

so, where are the good jokes at?
Have I ever given you the impression that I know where to find good jokes? Seriously.
Im against picketing but I haven’t yet figured out how to adequately express that yet.
Jennifer accidentally dyed her hair white before her big night out tonight. Sort of tragicomic.
I didn’t go to work today to get my hair fixed.
How bad was the snow? It wasn’t much here.
Over 12″. More expected Monday and Tuesday.
Ouch…I haven’t talked to any of my Kansas City friends in the last week or so…perhaps they’re all dead or have moved to Florida.
I did enjoy living in Kansas except for Dec-Feb…those three months I just grit my teeth a lot. Stay warm.
I’ll be flying down to Phoenix on Friday night if you’d care to join me.
You buying my ticket?
Help sick people, or fix funny-looking hair? Not a tough call.
Did you hear the one about the zen master who ordered a hot dog? He wanted one with everything.
A couple years ago someone actually told this joke to the Dalai Lama. He didn’t get it.
Did you hear about the Englishman who ordered a burger? When asked if he wanted anything on it he said “yes, £5 each way”.
asvd. And no matter how long I’ve known better, I always hear that spoken in my mind as “ell-5” before correcting it to “5 pounds”.
why would you want to add five pounds to your burger?
I could be wrong, but I took “wanted anything on it” as placing a bet?
Thats what I thought but I don’t get the each way component.
Yeah, me neither. But that’s as close as I could get to understanding it.
each way = win or place
Ah, so I was on the right track. Yay me!
And thanks for explaining.
Predictions: A’s starting lineup for Game 1 of the ALDS (I’m not jinxing anything, am I?).
Go.
Jaso C
Lowrie SS
Cespedes LF
Morneau 1b
Young CF
Reddick RF
Smith DH
Green 2b
Donalson 3b
Why green?
he means Tyler Greene,
Weeks will be injured. Sizemore will suck. Nakajima will suck. Green will be a rookie who hits an empty .280 but is the best option left.
We won’t have traded for someone or put Russel there?
Are you thinking we do a trade with the Twins involving Crisp for Morneau?
I hope not.
Thanks, and go As.
Crisp likely hurt, Morneau likely on the market.
Another possible name: Daniel Murphy.
why would the Twins want him then?
I’m not suggesting Crisp for Morneau. I am suggesting Morneau for something and Crisp on the DL.
oh this makes more sense
DNW Morneau.
Thanks, and go As.
mid season cheap acquisition likely to leave? Im ok with that
Sure, just not that guy.
Thanks, and go As.
I hear Ken!
Ken Korach is on Gameday Audio.
All is right with the world.
It’s on – Weeks at bat!
Weeks double up the right-center alley – and that’s the way our ballgame begins.
That would be a great way for our season to end, too.
Baseball!
weeks double to right center
bob welch coach
I was surprised when they mentioned that; wasn’t aware that Welch has had anything to do with baseball since he retired as a player.
Nakajima #3
TRUE ATHLETIC
Nakajima walks
chis young k with bases loaded.
0 runs 1 hit 2 walks, 3 lob
true 2010-2011 Athletics
groundball to nakajima. he played it
ryan braun hr. off Jesse chavez. over 400 feet according to ken
Why is he still on the roster?
ryan braun is pretty good, I think Milwaukee is going to keep him.
Seriously though, I don’t know why he is on the roster. Ken said that the regular starters are going to pitch later in spring because of extended games due to the WBC. so for a few weeks we are going to see the pitching depth front and center
Needs more Cespedes.
According to gameday, all the walks are on four straight balls and all the strikeouts on three straight swings. I don’t think we’re getting the straight dope.
This always happens in spring training.
nakajima in the middle of a 4-6-3 dp. Weeks apparently made a good play
I’m finding myself rooting for Jemile, I want good things to happen to him.
I want him to be really good. Because then the A’s either have a good 2B, or they have good tradebait (and hopefully Sizemore/Lowrie/Nakajima/whoever can handle 2B capably).
Just noticed the sibling rivalry today, Jemile on top currently.
His 2011 season was really fun, and I like people whose greatest strength (speed) is also their comical failing (oversliding).
See, e.g., Barton (Eye / horrible backwards Ks)
Harden: 100 mph fastballs / arm falling off
Crap, they brought in the closer!
i am not used to jaso being an a
Yeah, Chris Young for me too.
What the heck is a jaso?
It’s a thing you use to catch horses.
hee
Having the game on as I go about my Saturday makes me happy.
I’m just going to say it…this is the most important baseball game ever played between the Oakland Athletics and the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday 23, 2013 of all time.
Saturday’s been upgraded to a month now? Best. Weekends. Ever.
chortle
I got a “hee” and a “chortle” in one thread? I’m gonna double down on this humor thing.
I see our LOB skills are looking fresh!
Would anyone here believe me if I said I was watching and/or listening to this game?
I’m trying but no worky. :(
I really don’t remember the last time I watched spring training baseball…I’m looking forward to opening day though.
I make it a policy not to believe anything you say.
That’s probably the way to go.
Liar.
I prefer the term politician.
Isn’t that what I just said?
I always wonder when some pol tells an obvious lie…do they think people will believe them or that just the standards are so low for pols that people just won’t care?
I’ve wondered that too. It makes me wonder if they’re just pathological liars.
and they don’t fear the media…mainly because there’s no budget for reporters when it comes to actual investigative journalism…I think, especially on the local level, that political corruption is going to go through the roof because so few reporters are covering those beats anymore.
The risk/reward equation supports lying. Usually the debunking story gets a fraction of the eyeballs than the original story does.
Yup, and comes from an aide and a day later, mostly on a Friday the end of the news cycle.
I remember pre-election last year most of the hubris was uttered on a Thursday…
Although the backlash against Romney over the Jeep/China thing was strong.
The main thing that hurt Mitt Romney was the fact that he was Mitt Romney.
In the end, yes. But he pissed off a lot of people when he made that claim about Jeep moving production to China.
Well, to be honest I don’t even remember that one. The 47% thing was the only thing that stuck with me.
very ohio specific thing. It was the end of his chances really
Yeah, he mostly came off as petty, vindictive, and hectoring during the debates.
I think he was okay in the debates, his main problem is that he’s a stuffed shirt. He’s just a boring guy, there are plenty of Dems that fit this bill too.
Not caring about anything other than wanting to be President and therefore having malliable ethics and political positions IS being Mitt Romnehy
Definitely helped that it was a TV spot.
Conversely the Ryan ‘Janesville plant closing lie’ seemed to slip through just fine unless you really dug deep into the bloggers.
You mean everything Ryan actually said. I don’t think he’s ever spoken the truth. And he does that with his shit face grin that you want to crack open with a baseball bat.
Seriously, I hate that guy.
As a Democrat I hope he leads the GOP ticket in 2016. His ideas are far out of the mainstream.
Although a lot can change in 4 years.
In four years the electorate will likely be even younger and more Hispanic…I don’t like his chances.
I can easily see him on the ticket, Cruz and Christie (less so) have already hurt themselves somewhat.
He now looks like a moderate if you consider the new ’10 yr debt plan’.
Well, he won’t be the VP choice again. I give him a punchers chance to win the nomination but it’s way too early to tell on both sides. The folks saying Hilary is a lock are the same people who said she was a lock in 08.
Hillary has massively more goodwill within the Democratic party now than she did in 08. Plus she won’t hire that twit Mark Penn.
I was against her in 08 strongly. I would be in her camp when she runs
I agree with Bed. I mean, Hilary could end up as the nominee, but there is no such thing as a lock more than a year out.
The sheer smugness of that asshole and that he has any power in this country makes me want to vomit.
Me too. His face just says, “I’m lying, we all know that I’m lying, and a shitload of people are gonna vote for me anyway, so fuck you.”
I’m embarrassed by the choices of my birth state: Walker, Ryan, Fitzpatrick… At least Baldwin makes up for some of it.
Wisconsin never live down Joe McCarthy. Also Bud Selig.
Man, that guy’s an evil MoFo. And then there’s that McCarthy guy too.
Yeah, that too. he does have zombie eyes, get the Crovel!!!
Was pretty glad the ‘Ryan budget’ was finally pulled down/ exposed to reality in the MSM, beyond Krugman/ OpEd crowd that is.
Also, voters are sheep who only very rarely hold incumbents accountable for anything.
Read Brewer/ McCain.
yup
Looks like Jaso caught a runner!
He plays baseball and aids in the war on drugs? Damn.
So he’s used to losing a lot I guess.
Crack and the Mariners will make you cry every time.
Well, as we know…crack is whack…as far as the Mariners…uh, they’re a baseball team that plays in Seattle that I find really, really boring.
what’s this now? Is that even legal?
Shouldn’t you know? Counselor?
If someone you know is watching the NFL combine who isn’t employed by an actual NFL team please get them help.
Fernando’s looking pretty wild, 2 passed balls…
We watched a documentary last night called Sound City about a recording studio in LA last night…it was pretty good especially if you like rock music.
Green and Choice in, Weeks and Young out.
So we’re going to this best picture showcase thingy tonight…it’ll be the first time I’ve seen two movies back to back in one night at the movies since I was a teenager and used to sneak into movies. I guess we’re going with Lincoln and Silver Linings Playbook…the baby sitter is butt ugly though…close to 70 and bald as hell.
Who’s your daddy!!
Yeah, for the next kid we’ve got to get a hotter babysitter. I’m thinking Swedish bikini model/nanny/hooker.
Who can you can marry then have sue you for hundreds of millions when your serial infidelity comes to light?
Hmm…a lot like Tiger Woods ex-wife…well, besides the hooker part…well, maybe.
Who’s your mommy!!
Well, my mom is Swedish…not sure on the nanny/hooker part.
She never charged me or babysat any kids that I know of.
Oh no, that’s the first of 979 airings of that horrible Cache Creek commercial (obnoxious voice singing an ode to Cache Creek to the tune of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”).
(Note to self) Make sure you hit an ATM before the movie to take out $300 to pay for a popcorn and a couple of drinks.
Pro tip: Jiffy Pop and a lighter.
You should do that on your next date…that’ll really impress her.
Oh, I’m planning on it. Women love men who know how to save money.
Tall, dark and fiscally responsible.
The Swedish babysitting hookers won’t even read a bed time story for less than $500.
Seems fair…those fucking things are boring to read.
So what’s the deal with Reddick’s beard? Is homeless chic the new it thing for baseball players?
Johnny Damon was into that before it was cool. Fucking hipster
If Damon was legit he’d have turned down the Yankees cause of their no beards clause.
hipsters hella sell out. Its one of the core things in the aesthetic.
Go to the Olive Garden you sell out.
” frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen>
#Price
heh. i read that as the “no boners clause”
You and your dirty mind!
seriously!
You perverts are gonna corrupt innocent little me.
like that is possible…
It might be…
lol
You can’t prove anything! ;)
i probably could, if i choose to
Hehe, please don’t!
If I had married a Swedish girl our kids would be so blonde and white that they would glow in the dark.
Is Daric “Deep End” Barton still on the team?
First run of the year! (Michael Choice RBI single)
Really hope he can bounce back!
Really hope I find out who he is this year!
With a little bit of luck, Russell ends up in AA by August, and Choice and Gray are knocking on Oakland’s door. And the MLB team is in the post-season hunt.
Pleasantly Shocking how quickly Russell is becoming the darling of the scouting/ fantasy basement worlds.
So you’re saying Jennifer wants to add her to her basement collect?
Should slip in easier w/ the slimmer waist.
Just like BoCro! [ducks]
Awe dude, I just washed this thread…
IN PLAY RUNZ, Choice RBI single.
My wife said she wants to go to Italy so I’m taking her to Olive Garden tonight for dinner…that’s close enough…right?
and for those of you keeping score at home…we’re not actually going to Olive Garden…what am I…made of money?…Denny’s it is.
$4 Everyday Slam FTW!
In Arkansas…I’m thinking Waffle House must have a value dinner menu.
I only go to the Waffle House when I’m feeling really fancy.
I only go to the Waffle House when I get tired of not having acid reflux.
As I’ve said before I only go there with a certain group of friends when we play one particular golf course…maybe 6-8 times a year.
I haven’t been in probably at least 5 years, maybe more. I doubt I’ll ever go there again.
I would not go to Waffle House but I did have breakfast once at a Steak-N-Shake when I was in Florida this week and it was pleasantly not terrible.
Steak-N-Shakes are okay…their burgers are a bit too greasy for me though.
I like their burgers. A step above most fast food.
I rarely eat fast food but when I do it’s usually Backyard Burger…they have good onion rings.
We used to have one of those. Not anymore.
Well, you should move then.
To Arkansas?
I’m guessing you have other places in mind. I just hope you’re happy no matter where you are, my friend.
Thanks. Back to SF is the plan, and I think I’ll be quite happy.
I hope it works out for you. It makes life a lot better when you live someplace you like…I know most (all?) of you think I’m crazy but I really enjoy living in Arkansas…I admit I also enjoy our two months in Hawaii though too.
Thanks. I’m gonna make it work out.
@Bed I’m glad I lived in the Bay Area for ~30 years of adult life, but that’s long enough to live anywhere and it was definitely time to move on to something else, less expensive and less megalopolitan. There isn’t any chance I would go back there.
I have a waffle with some eggs..that’s hard to mess up. Honestly I’m not a big breakfast person really…I have to force myself to eat anything before about 3pm.
I just don’t like their food.
Me either but one of the guys I play with had two eagles in a round after we ate there so we’re stuck…he’s never had another eagle ever in his life besides the two he had that day…one of which he knocked in from about 250 yards out.
That’s one of those things you never forget. Or stop talking about.
It’s basically the greatest day of his life…and he’s a doctor with three kids and a hot wife…they all rank below that day.
The highpoint of my life was the day I hit 17 3-pointers from various spots while shooting around with some friends.
In a row, that is.
Mine is the birth of my child…but then I’m really shallow.
What a silly little thing.
When I’m traveling I usually find a bagel shop or something like a Panera. Once in a while I do go for the full-blown Cholestorol Bomb Breakfast though.
I would divorce you for taking me to the olive garden if I was her.
You sorta lose that right when you move to Arkansas.
I wouldn’t have done that either
It’s almost like she loves him or something.
I wouldn’t have done that either :-P
No, you’d use him for his body and then leave him.
So if I have this right the ending to Lincoln is Abe entering a dance contest with Jennifer Lawrence.
You know I’m going to go out on a limb and say the Freddie Mercury really didn’t like fat bottom girls.
Sure he did. Just so long as those girls were men in drag.
They made his rockin world go ’round!
Like, ’round the corner to find someone more his type?
So I’m driving home from work yesterday and one of the local radio stations plays a lot of live music and Genesis comes on playing Invisible Touch…in the live version instead of singing “mess” Phil sings “fuck”…now I thought for sure that they’d bleep this since I’m pretty sure you can’t say that on radio but no, they did not. I got a chuckle thinking about the poor, sensitive ears of the fine folks of Arkansas hearing the word fuck on the radio. I’m pretty sure that radio station will switch to Christian music by the end of the month.
Okay, who of our hitters is going to have the best season?
Yoenis
I hope so…he’s my favorite.
Yep.
We’re actually going for Vietnamese food tonight. It’s a new place that the people we’re going with have been raving about. If I see one white person in the kitchen I’m leaving.
I thought asian was the new white?
Lucky you.
Vietnamese food is in my top five.
I don’t know of a decent Vietnamese restaurant in Charleston. Or of any, actually.
We have at least three that I know of…if this place is good that’ll make four.
I sense a list…
Well, we’re at the bottom of the Cactus League standings.
Need more Yo-Coco.
And a bottle of Runs.
Drinking plenty of coffee should give you that.
WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!
As long as no one got hurt, I’m good.
Goddamn it, I was certain Montz and Parrino would crush hella runs.
Montz and Parrino?….okay, now you guys are making up names to fuck with me.
Weren’t Montz and Parrino another pair of detectives on Starsky & Hutch?
You should do a lot of game threads this year, Oz. You’re a good host.
Heh, thanks. But I haven’t done anything.
pfft…you do a good job of keeping the conversation going. To me the best game threads are like a bunch of people watching a game together and just talking about anything and everything.
Well thanks! I’ll see what I can do.
Ask management to pay you the same amount I get for posting the lounge.
I don’t deserve that kind of money. I’m not at that level.
Agreed.
Thanks. :)
OK, I’m going to watch the recorded Heels game now. When I log back on later tonight I’ll be convinced either that Carolina is ready to make a sneaky Final Four run, or that they don’t even deserve a tournament berth. I’ll letcha know.
Final Four, baby!
Actually not, I think; this team goes to sleep on D too much. Disciplined teams will chew them up. But they could beat a better-seeded team or two if the matchups are right.
Oh, also I missed almost the entire half on the DVR because ESPN was still on the auto race at Daytona which ended in a horrific wreck, including a tire and an engine flying into the stands. Miraculous that no spectators died.
Yes, the way ESPN crams their events into too-short time slots (which they do because studio shows filling time between games tend to lose audience) you’re wise to set the DVR to record ESPNNews for the first 30-60 minutes of the time slot of the game you want to watch.
Enjoy the rest of your day, everyone…I’ll let you folks know how the Lincoln movie ends…my guess, it turns out he’s Luke’s dad.
Pretty sure he uses a machete to sink the Titanic.
he was dead the whole time
He was actually a man.
Man this place just cleared out once the game was over, huh?

if so, he would be the first in a long line of people that tried to win if he did win
Yeah i hear you, I was just curious if his celebrity could help his chances.
Game 2 lineup!!!
Crisp, Young, Smith, Cespy, Lowrie Sizemore, [GROAN], Norris, Rosie, Blackley P.
Field, Wells, Trumbo, Calhoun Harris, Cowart, Navarro, Young, Carlin, Enright P.
Am I alone in only recognizing like 5 of the slegnA players?
I only recognize 2.
Only reason I do is I follow MiLB somewhat.
Young double plates Crisp, 1-0!
Theth doubles in Young, 2-0!
Sizemore SacFly brings in Theth, 3-0
Holy crap Barton has an amazing BEARD

Ah, I don’t have an mlbtv.com scrip, waiting on the 1:00 MLB Channel delayed broadcast.
If somebody at MLB Network is paying attention they will just skip the most tortured 1st inning in the history of spring training baseball and join the game live in the top of the 2nd.
Awesome play by Young saves 2 runs.
3-0 A’s!
Uh-oh, Young taken out, Taylor in.
Hope he’s okay. :/
Slusser tweets Quad cramp for Young.
Precautionary removal.
Amputation scheduled for tomorrow morning. A’s will see how it heals before deciding if he needs to go on the DL.
Grandy breaks his forearm getting HBP, out 10 wks, sucks.
Barton single, bases juiced
Norris DP turns out the lights…
Gordon throwing BP, 3 up, 1 out.
4-3 slegnA
For some reason they let Coco make the throw to the plate.
Just checking to see if his arm still sucks.
Really wonder how many games Coco will play CF w/ Young around, then again though minor Young already got hurt today.
A’s at .500 w/ WIN NUMBER 1 ! ! ! 111
