- This is precisely why we need tort reform
- Amazing photo, genius post, and of course several commenters beat me to the observation that that’s clearly Dr. Pierre Chang Obama’s meeting with
- Yeah, plenty of stoopid in this (and, yes, Byg has his Twyt on), but this is … odd/alarming/questionable:
I’d love to tell you what’s going on with Justin Duchscherer, but this is the best-kept secret I’ve ever encountered in nearly a decade covering the A’s. That in itself should tell you that whatever the problem is, it’s very, very serious. I don’t even want to speculate. I just want him to get better in every way.
- Zito: not really all that bad
- I mean, say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it’s an ethos.
- I’ll never forget one back in the ’80s … They brought in the A’s roster and dumped them on the floor in front of my podium. This is not new.
- I really don’t understand — why doesn’t Ted simply resign?
- My job is not to answer your questions.

Re. (7), see comment 2.
Yep.
With Barton finally starting to hit in his rehab assignment, and four games against RHP coming up, it seems like a pretty good time for the A’s to consider considering dumping Nomar.
The A’s player development department should hire someone whose parents were Harper Lee fans.
Scarborough, despite refusing to engage the question at the end, at least lets his guests talk.
Apparently, there’s a danger in that. Better to just scream them down, Joe.
On a related note, I think I have a new hero.
Spectacular interview.
That was really good. Thank you for sharing it.
Ugh. He sure ain’t above a little mainstream demagoguing on certain issues:
Meh. He’s aware of who he’s talking to.
Thanks for that link. Good stuff.
Say, does anyone know where I might get a banana suit?

(Anyone else think Malkovich should play Norm in the movie?)
One would would thinkk, Mis-ter Franken, that you have overplayed your hand…(perhaps?)

I wonder if anyone will make the obvious joke.
There is probably more green-and-gold merchandise in the Baylor bookstore than there is at the Coliseum. Also, there are real bears on campus. When the A’s get their new ballpark (in, oh, 2068), they need to feature a pair of real elephants. And they can walk them on the field before the games, and it’ll be like the old days, when the Raiders destroyed the grass. But elephants are much more interesting than the Raiders, so it would be better. Much better.
nice and cool there?
But of course.
I’m glad the moving-in part is done, because that was just horrendous in the heat.
This is worth a read. I am still laughing just thinking about it. Bears and squirels = good. Raccons = bad. More Wap-a-pap.
I have to admit that I’m shocked it was so well received.
Me too.
I have to say I actually find it pretty offensive. This isn’t a slippery-slope argument, but a simple equivalence: would this be less funny/more offensive if it were in an “Ah, so, Confucius say …” or shuck-and-jive Stepinfetchit “dialect”?
I have to agree, which is why I linked to 149’s impressive work on the “it’s ok, we don’t mean any offense” argument.
26 recs, though, blows my mind.
Napoleon using the Tonto “humor” himself in a response in another post kinda blows my mind.
I know. I was thinking of saying something like “at least Nico isn’t giving it the seal of approval” but then I saw that.

Love it.
I imagine Camus, playing bridge.
I’m disturbed by what Urban had to say about Duke, but I’m also disturbed by this:
That’s a… strange song for a first dance. Or any dance.
First dance songs are HARD. I, for one, don’t want to do one that everyone else does, but I want it to be slow and not super long. My ability to locate such options has so far closely approximated Crosby’s ability to hit sliders.
I wonder who wears the British schoolboy uni?
I kind of read it as–it wasn’t at his wedding, but maybe more on a first date.
Though I did go to a wedding where the first dance for the bride and groom was Rod Stewart’s “Do you think I’m Sexy.” It was pretty entertaining.
Does he mean “the President of the United States” or “Obama”? Is this kind of like how Photoshops of the President are now a big deal?
Equivalency fail.
equivalency WIN:
