Southernmost A’s fan 39

That’s the ceremonial South Pole, which is a couple hundred feet away from the actual South Pole. The actual South Pole has to be moved periodically to account for the glacial flow of the ice. Current weather is -25°F with 18 knot wind (-56°F with wind chill).

The post-thanksgiving dance party had an appropriately industrial vibe down in the LO Arch (confession: I don’t know what the “LO” in “LO Arch” means).

Bonus party picture — I think ptbnl should be able to identify two people from this one.

UPDATE — I’ll try to post some more photos over the next few days, God satellite access willing.

First, here is my telescope, looking appealingly symmetrical with its calibration mirror installed.

Plenty of room for our new stadium!

There's a wild thing in the woolshed and it's keeping me awake at night.

Sorry, the Giants have already claimed it as their territory.

I would love a video of that penguin attacking him. Or caption this with the penguin asking “What’s wrong with timmeh?!?!?!”

Not pictured: the penguin poop that ended up on his shirt.

Or the partially digested fish that was regurgitated on his face.

I think beebo was talking about things that are NOT pictured.

      Probably will need a dome.

That’s really cool. So with the windchill, late spring is a balmy -56? Also, y’all need a hot tub.

We do have a sauna. Stay in there as long as possible, then stand around outside for a few minutes, and repeat.

Shorts for me. You get just as cold, but it covers up the embarrassingly complete shrinkage.

I’d rather not think about it at all.

If I ever do happen to find myself at the South Pole or in Antarctica, I will put up photos like this.

Your telescope looks like my old spice containers. Spice containers that are old, not Old Spice containers.

A soliloquy of fresh-sounding ideas which would probably be disastrous.
