Off the top of my head: If DFA got to Nuke the A’s
Crisp would be gone.
Balfour would be gone.
(That’s 4.5 Wins that the A’s needed in 2012)
Weeks would be gone. (Hey, not every move woulda been a negative!)
No idea if Sexy Pants makes his way to the Green & Gold.
Doubt Seth Smith shows.
(There’s another 4.5 Wins off the 2012 roster, assuming Smith wasn’t on the DFA drawing board… and kudos if he was.)I could see Moss and Gomes fitting into your plan, but not Inge ’cause you’d have let MikeV convince you to move Barton to 3B.
Seriously though, Beane kept a core from that 2011 team to build around. He quadrupled McCarthy’s salary in spite of the risks. He kept Balfour instead of looking to make a salary dump. Suzuki, Weeks, Pennngton, Crisp and Sizemore headed to ST with starting jobs. The short term money invested in DDJ and Pig gave Beane the means to pursue Cespedes.
So I will go from top to bottom. Â Crisp wouldn’t have been resigned it is true.
I would have no problem signing Sexyfeet (I wanted him to be signed for longer when we did sign him)
I would have invested in Soler
I was against the Smith acquisition because I was worried that the arms lost would expose Parker and other’s clocks early in a waster year, but I did say that platoon players that were never given a shot to play through early struggles was a market that might have arbitrage potential. Â However, I wanted Seth to get to play every day to try to prove that he could hit lefties making him better trade bait.
Balfour was good this year. Â However, you don’t know what kind of parts we would have been able to get back. Â Considering the success of our minor league reliever throw ins like Cook and even Noberto recently, Im not so sure that such a move wouldn’t be an upgrade.
Fuentes wouldn’t have contributed -.4 WAR which would help mitigate some of the losses. Â Weeks would have had a strong return off of last offseason. Â Suzuki traded closer to his peak would have returned more than what most call an organizational catcher.
Suzuki, Weeks, Pennngton, Crisp and Sizemore headed to ST with starting jobs
The total production: 4.5 WAR or less than 1/WAR per player. Â Same if you add Barton Balfour and Fuentes, you are at 6.5 or still below 1WAR/per player. We would have done better without them.
I have nothing to add except THIS IS AMAZING
Thanks, and go As.
herlewern is a misspelling of Halloween, right? I have no idea what ‘cersterm’ is supposed to mean.
I think it supposed to be halloween costume. But it’s not close enough to be anything but gibberish.
thatsthejoke.jpg
Thanks, and go As.
Costume?
One thing on Cespedes being signed for longer.
The only other known contract I was aware of was Miami’s 6-year deal, and everything I was reading around the time of it was Cespedes wanted either a 10-year deal or a 4-year one, the latter being designed to take him into his prime free agency years.
Not sure the A’s would have been able to get him in between those two contract lengths.
Right, I am aware of that. I would have offered 8 years. I was concerned aobut 4 not being long enough to contend.
8 isn’t 10.
Maybe not. But if you turn it on it’s side, it’s forever.
That is a very Zen outlook. I like it.
I don’t get it.
don’t get what?
Exactly.
Keep trying
No, we don’t get laid either. We get restraining orders.
You’re getting the persistent ones confused with the bipolar self-pitying stalkers.
There’s a difference?
Hmm… you may have a point there.
Sorry I’m late. You rang?
bi-polar bear?
This. I think one of the most societally damaging ideas there are in common parlances is this notion that if you try harder a girl will fall for you. It just isn’t true. Trying harder is creepy and you cant make someone like you. There is no such thing as a romantic commedy type ending where your flashmob dance/crashing the party/confessing your love works. There is a restraining order.
Ok, but going on the Indian Who Wants To Be A Millionaire works, right?
Depends. Do you win?
It’s how you dangle the bucket. There’s the “only if you were the very last man on earth” — “so you mean there’s a chance?” kind of desperate persistence, but there’s also a thoughtful, confident, lead-taking persistence that many folks seem to respond-to. Sure, there has to be some biological/social attraction, but persistence can certainly be a tie-breaker among suitors. The DogMa will tell you that she liked the fact that I went after her. I’d much prefer to believe it was wit, charm and especially my Adonis-shaming physique — but she assures me that ain’t it.
And of course, here we are, the blind — stumbling around, trying to lead each other in the dark. We prolly ought to hear from certain other commenters, who tolerate us hereabouts.
There is a basic level of you have to pursue someone. You cant just be dancing on the dance floor and have them come dance with you, have them go home with you, and expect them to plan a suitable real date. I mean expecting more than 3 out of 4 just isn’t realistic.
The context of the discussion didn’t get set, did it?
What was below is now gone. – grover
Nope. Not at all.
Basically I asked where would the A’s be right now if Beane would have followed DFA’s “blow ’em up” plan in 2011.
Ahhh. Okay. That helps, thanks.
I have a niners tshirt on today.
as I was walking in the parking lot some guy says “You should have a gnats shirt on instead”
I had to refrain myself.
Thanks, and go As.
Here, make one like this
heh
This is the burden that you Bi By Choice folks have to shoulder.
Not really fuck the Raiders for coming back and building Mt Davis and ruining my baseball field.
This. And it isn’t really “by choice” to adopt the SF team over the LA team, though I like to think I would have had the good sense to go Niners either way.
Also, im all about the A’s being the blue collar team, but the Raider, while being far more blue collar than that 9ers, embrace the thug collar more than I would want my team to.
Every sports affiliation is by choice.
Sure, but it’s awfully unusual to root for non-local teams in a local team’s league as a child.
I always wanted to see a good study about that. Are people more likely to adopt a religion, political views or team affiliation of something that doesn’t fit into their geosocial environment. I mean, all three are by choice, but none appear to be really unaffected by predetermined factors.
Or nothing is by choice.
Yep. I was a baseball fan before I was a football fan, so this point is pretty much what did it for me.
You seem to forget that there were no Raiders during most of the 80s when I was learning about sports, but there were the Niners with a locker room full of HOFers, and there were the bash brothers and multiple ROYs in a row.
It’s amazingly foreign to me that someone in my age range that grew up in the Bay Area is a Raiders fan. They were in LA, and FK LA.
Thanks, and go As.
Geez, a guy can’t even make a bisexuality/choice joke around here without it turning into the Spanish Inquisition. Kay, help me out here,
manfriend.I LOL’d.
Thanks, and go As.
well our chief weapon is surprise
This is one of those cases where he really should have suspected it.
well then how bout fear? Surprise and fear?
Yeah, fear would be appropriate.
Where were you when DFA and I were arguing human sexuality?
in the closet?
Thanks, and go As.
Reading closely, hence my comment.
For the record I think you’re both right/wrong. I see sexuality as a continuum (as I think DialC or GloriousM similarly commented). No one’s place on the continuum is a matter of choice. However, how much they choose to indulge/manifest all of the options provided to their spot on the continuum is something that can be a matter of choice, and can also(potentially) be influenced by education aimed at breaking down societally-instilled preconceptions and barriers.
By continuum do you mean sort of like a rating scale of Totally gay and totally straight (for lack of more appropriate terms since there’s probably more than one scale involved) and with it exceptionally rare that anyone actually hits the absolute?
Yes.
I agree with this.
I strongly disagree with any reading that includes the possibility of me being wrong… wait what are we talking about again?
Raiders fans.
Yeah, that’s pretty much what I was going for.
Is my Queer Pansexuality a spot in your spectrum, or is it a cluster of spots, or is it a bigger or smaller spot than other spots? Or maybe is it more of an elongated worm than it is a spot?
isn’t that more about volume than tune?
I literally don’t know.
Another thing that comes up is the definition of the border between what is sex and what is not sex. If sex is the narrowest possible definition of unprotected genital sex between a man and a woman, that’s one thing. If sex is an incredibly broad definition including the BDSM pantheon, human animal/primal play, and mutual as well as solo masturbation, that’s another entirely.
If we’re using the Clintonian definition of sex as protected or unprotected genital, anal, or oral penetration, I don’t know how to label myself. Asexual, I guess. Is that on the pantheon? I hope so.
Basically what I posited was not all of what we find attractive 100% genetic, there is some variation based on the basic place on the Kinsey scale (youll think red heads are hotter if you read lots of magazines saying that read heads are hotter). However socializing people to try to move their outcomes to one side of the kinsey scale IMO is immoral and considering how many people wouldn’t genetically be receptive to whatever place on the scale you are pushing.
I made out with FSU once.
slut
guilty.
I beg to differ.
Well, he’s far from innocent.
In FSU, FSU makes out with YOU!
he did, too. he tried to put his hand down my pants.
It’s like I don’t even… wait… no… that actually makes sense. Carry on.
And now I know that when Bloom offers you something from his bag of nuts, best to decline.
DFA
When you said you were going to start a new thread I didn’t realize you meant create a whole new post. I thought you meant a new sub-thread. I’m actually uncomfortable with you bringing our conversation to the forefront like this.
I think it’s an interesting topic for conversation; I just don’t have much to contribute. Totally makes sense to revisit our offseason plans from last year to try to understand where process meets outcome.
Do you want me to change the thread title? Cause, you know, I can make that happen.
Thanks, and go As.
Don’t. I could as well.
I’m just not going to do this.
huh? I didn’t think you would be uncomfortable with it. Can you explain why so I know what not to do next time?
Maybe we should talk about Bryce Harper instead.
Did you know that Bryce Harper is Mormon? Until 30 seconds ago, nether did I.
also, neither.
Is that why he’s America’s next conservative hero?
I had no idea. Not sure what to do with that.
I did.
That’s why the clown question was a clown question, Bro.
yup. me too
Yeah, it makes a hell of a lot more sense now.
I know you didn’t mean anything by it but… I was willing to have a side conversation buried in a days old thread. I didn’t want a headlining gig. Right now I have no interest in being a prominent voice on this or any other baseball site. No offense intended to you.
I argue with you because I respect the hell out of your opinion, even if I think you are wrong. When I first started writing at that other place, you gave me help and encouragement as well as someone to spar with and I am immensely grateful.
Many other people around here agree, and so if you say anything, people will listen. I don’t think starting something in its own thread makes you a headliner, its just a way of organizing the conversation, much in the same way as starting a new lounge does.
If you disagree with this I won’t do this in the future with your comments.
I liken the other thread to having a conversation with someone in a crowded room, other people are bound to overhear what’s being said and if you really want to have a “private” conversation with someone pick a better venue! Versus stepping on a podium in the same crowded room and speaking to draw everyone’s attention towards you. I guess seeing my name in the actual headline made it feel more like the latter. Again, you did nothing wrong. In the past it was pretty common for me to step up on the podium; now though I refrain. Its just not for me anymore.
Maybe that will change some day and if you ever see a new piece by me don’t hesitate to jump in and be wrong. I had some epic victories over you. (Heh)
But, please, for now I’d prefer to keep things a little bit more low key than a headline featuring You vs. Me.
What if we got Don King to promote it? Would that change anything?
BUT WHAT WILL I DO WITH MY TEAM GROVER SHIRTS? :(
I’d say burn them, burn them with fire. But that seems a wee bit inappropriate all things considered.
Actually, what would be more appropriate for a fire fighter???
Making you work in effigy?
Fire = overtime.
I’m a single dad… gotta make ends meet!
Okay then. Burn, baby, burn!!!
I would say send them back to the manufacturer and get them made with a lower case g
BTW… I appreciate the kind words.
Youre welcome.
Now fk you and argue with me :-P
Not until you learn the difference between “your” and “you’re”.
Here.
MLBTR’s projected arbitration numbers for 2013.
typo not not knowing the difference
I too like when you speak up. It makes us all smarter.
Unlike when Oz comments
Did you just call me a Republican?
No, he just called you a Tea Partier.
Just when I thought it couldn’t get worse.
[nods]
Gold Glove nominations: Reddick, Inge, no one in a horrible Halloween uni
CBS pre-free-agency profile of McCarthy reminds us that the clock has now started on the A’s 5-day post-World Series exclusive negotiating period.
Speaking of McCarthy, MLB is making progress on protective headgear. It probably wouldn’t help if you got hit in the mouth, though. Ow. Poor Bartolo.
My best guess is that pitchers will refuse to wear it.
Thanks, and go As.
its the minors, they can mandate people wear it.
It will come along after its required in LL and High School.
People will be so used to it they won’t want to go back.
I can see some reservations to the cost at those levels
I can’t.
Also, before you played organized ball, there was a “team cup” that was passed around from catcher to catcher. and a running helmet. Teams only had one or 2 batting helmets and three running helmets. When a player reached base, they would exchage the batting helmet with a U shaped piece of out door furniture plastic that had some elastic going around the top. Kinda like bending some hot wheels track from ear to ear and tying them on top.
Today everyone gets a batting helmet to DOT specifications. Pitching helmets will not be cost prohibitive.
in coach pitch the “pitcher” kid had a helmet
in t-ball the pitch and batter has a helmet and the catcher is in full gear
in t-ball we don’t use catchers because it’s hitting off a tee.
Thanks, and go As.
our league did. ANd in full gear.
It was weird.
Same. I always liked putting on the gear even though it never made sense.
I just don’t think the Department Of Transportation should be involved in all this. Kudos for them caring, but really, way outside their authority.
well the ball is being transported 60 ft 6inches
And yet they do nothing about the traffic crashes cause by people running through a path that’s 90ft long.
also how do they all get to the games? BOOM.
Thanks, and go As.
I’m assuming that too for guys already in the bigs, but I wouldn’t be surprised if, in a few years, after something fairly lightweight/low-impact is developed and tried in the minors, some guys get called up who are used to it. In terms of the long-term, it’s a good thing for them to examine.
I don’t see why pitchers can’t wear Olerud-style helmet caps with fitted padded interiors.
I’m having some trouble with the physics. The whole point of Kevlar in vests is to catch the bullet in a web of several layers, avoiding penetration injuries (yeah, I said it), and spread the impact force over a larger area. It’s not a ‘bullets bounce-off’ situation, and the folks saved end up with soft-tissue bruises about the size of grapefruits. On most of us, there’s not much meat ‘twixt skull and cap, and I’m having difficulty figuring-out how there would be much impact-spreading beyond what the ball provides, anyway.
That said, when I was at DuPont, they had small armies of PhDs figuring out new uses for Kevlar and testing them. The company both founded the ballistic apparel trade assn and donated certification standards developed in-house to it, the better to ensure that adequate amounts of their product would find its way into the vests, military helmets, etc.
Any ideas, rocket scientists?
This is definitely not my area of expertise, but from what I understand, Kevlar has a high tensile strength for it’s weight. So it should resist deformation more effectively than most other materials. A bullet and a baseball are both projectiles.
Looking at the McCarthy CBS article, is it just me or does 3y/45M for Brandon seem kinda crazy/ not happening?
I’m okay with being that crazy. It would be crazy for sure. But I’m still okay with it.
Yeah.
Should be 45Y/3M
Thanks, and go As.
I think it sounds crazy, but I could see the Red Sox throwing money at him. Their pitching suuuuucks.
hmm… that one makes my spidey sense tingle.
That’s not good.
Yeah, it would suck. Maybe I’m just tuned into that particular possibility because my fiancee is a Red Sox fan and a McCarthy fan.
His tweets (and Amanda’s) make him worth every penny.
Yeah I absolutely would not pay that for a part time starter
I want a Wakefield deal: perpetual yearly options of $X million.
I want one of those too. One for McCarthy would also be ok.
I mean, it’s basically what you and I already have. X is just less than 1.
Can we do a Kickstarter and crowdsource Brandon’s contract?
As long as he doesn’t pull an Amanda Palmer and try to get his personal trainer to work for beer and hugs, yes.
Think bigger. Lets get everyone in the east bay to pitch in $100 and buy the team.
It would be interesting to try to get a kickstarter going to buy the team.
Everyone who contributes $1k+ gets a signed picture of Stomper!
everyone that contributes 100k will get to call Omar Minaya names in the background while I conduct trade negotiations.
Oooh. And for $1M you get to shake hands with your favorite A’s player currently on a disabled list.
Very gently, though.
I’m curious if it would be more or less effective than my ‘Bake Sale to Pay for Cespedes’s Contract Extension’ plan.
Depends on what kind of brownies you sell.
K-Thug of the (too infrequent) day.
Lucky for Sal, his work is non-political. So far.
They’ll be coming for ptbnl and me:

I love how all those deer heads are looking at him like “Woh. That boy is caaaarrrraaazzy!”
Well I, for one, can’t wait until we go back to a fantasy system where we don’t have to prove validity as long as it just makes me feel nice and cozy. It’s the first step back to the dark ages and what a great time that was for everyone. Um… the GOP is listening to us… uh… right?
A nice example of the pure, unadulterated stupidity being written on this subject.
Nuclear weapons work non-political? Hell no!
Everyone (at least on the right) lurves nukes.
Exactly – hardly non-political.
nothing political about the science, though
Actually, yes, I think so.
At least insofar as there are politically acceptable and unacceptable answers, along the lines described by Krugman.
Joss Whedon is humble, refuses to predict future.
awesome
The “L” word. First time?
[faints]
Usually Mitt is all defensive when called out, but he can’t get defensive on this one, right? its too stupid to get defensive on this, right?
Am I missing something?
Oh he’ll find a way. A good liar always does.
Excellent primer on Berkeley’s Measure T, for the couple of you who might care.
I can’t believe I haven’t seen Wag the Dog before. So great
Huh.
Thanks, and go As.
Perhaps we’re planning on having 4 outfielders and going without a SS? I was just looking at possible Japanese FAs, Nakajima for 3 years?
I bet he signs for like 2/16 or something.
Thanks, and go As.
I would be quite happy with that.
I’m not sure I’d be happy with it, but I certainly wouldn’t be unhappy with that.
You might be perched right on the knife’s edge between happiness and unhappiness with that?
Nah. It’s more a strong shelf. Either A) he’ll be another year removed from a bad injury and therefore have healed more and get back to the Drew of old. Or B) he’ll be another year removed from a bad injury and therefore still be meh. At that price, it’s not hurting us if it’s B. It’s more than I’d like, but not overwhelmingly nor cripplingly so.
Are we talking about 2/16 for Drew? If the A’s weren’t willing to pay Drew 1/8.65, then why would they be willing to pay him 2/16?
I think Drew’s as good as gone.
Wasn’t Drew’s option 1/10?
$1.35 million buyout according to Cot’s. Not sure what happens to that if it’s the player that declines the option.
Wasn’t it 1/10?
I’m pretty happy they didn’t keep Drew, but I was hoping they were going to pick up the option and have Drew decline his half, and save the $1.35M. In any case, Cespedes at SS will be fun.
According to Slusser, that is what happened:
That’s interesting that Drew was the first to decline. If it’s true that the buyout would have been forfeited if Drew declined + A’s accepted, then the A’s declining and basically giving away the 1.35 million to Drew is possibly a good faith gesture. A deposit, if you will, on the extension they want him to sign.
Of course, this theory is moot if the buyout was simply guaranteed to Drew regardless of who declines/accepts.
I’d guess the latter.
Me too. I’d further hypothesize that Boras saw the Penny trade as a bargaining chip for his client (Hey Billy, if you don’t sign my guy who’s gonna play short for you?) and declined the option to find other suitors, hoping Billy will overpay to avoid losing Drew.
well if they sign drew it will be an overpay. Thats just what the market is.
Sorry, I meant over the $10 mil. Should have said that.
Well, we don’t know what happened other than “option not picked up” right?
SO if drew declined, regardless of the A’s actions, the option is not picked up. Who walks away with the $1.35 million is not defined in that sentence.
Do we know the A’s also declined the option?
I could certainly live with it.
yeah that would be a fair deal.
NOW BATTING THIRD AND PLAYING SHORT STOP-OP-OP-OP, YOENIS CESPEDES
Five whole minutes behind old man
I WAS TRYING TO USE THE PHONE!
Would’a could’a should’a. You failed Ed. Live with it.
Heh heh.
They’re push-button now. Once you get used to it, they’re actually faster than the old ones.
This scouting report on Nakajima isn’t very inspiring.
I’d guess he’d come cheap with a not horrible bat. For the cost, there’d be a chance of an upgrade from last year, but I certainly wouldn’t give mega money.
I’m assuming we hear further news on Drew shortly. I’m not super comfortable going into the offseason with the shortstop depth chart amounting to Ryan Sweeney and the vengeful ghost of Bobby Crosby.
Cespedes —-> SS. You heard it here first.
(pretty please make this happen, it would be so enjoyable)
You spelled Carter wrong.
Thanks, and go As.
Frank. Thomas.
Jack Cust
Thanks, and go As.
He never played SS for the A’s.
Complete bullshit IMO.
Thanks, and go As.
Jose Canseco.
dammit, read the thread, Ed
BALFOUR RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!
Who will be non-tendered?
Barton?
Kottaras?
Rosales?
Braden?
Devine?
Did someone say something about Devine? like the A’s have another year of control with him or something?
He had a 4th option but I don’t know if it was used or not cause wasn’t he on the 60 day DL all year?
Thanks, and go As.
I’d have to check the rule book, but I think only appearing at FanFest and then not at all during actual baseball times means you’re contractually obligated to appear at at least three more FanFests.
Devine is still alive?
Who, Bing?
Hang on, gotta go crab a spoon and gouge my eyes out.
Crab? Musta been a Freudian slip.
I don’t think you nontender George or Rosales. You need a back up SS and Rosales is your only option.
sorry posted in the other thread but it belongs here
I think this pushes us over the edge and into the WS next year.
Thanks, and go As.
Trout and Pujols are reportedly asking to be traded out of the AL as a result of this signing.
Who?
The Athletics. You know, the baseball team supported by at least 87% of the posters on FK?
Huh. Them?
They may not be the best, but they’re so darned cute!
That’s a damn fine ERA for Colorado Springs.
But that’s all the analysis you’ll get from me!
That was pretty much what I saw too.
He also gave up 0 home runs which is of course, impressive enough even in a normal home ballpark.
Heh.
Despair, for Politico is stupid.
Initiatives
Sourceish
The new xkcd is totally awesome for American political history nerds.
I love Balfour, but he seems like a good sell-high candidate.
Maybe, but losing him might shock the A’s clubhouse more than losing any other guy. It would not be well received. Whether that matters, who knows.
That may be. It might be ok if they landed a really good MI, and also tried to sell it as a “we’re making a commitment to Ryan Cook as the closer” move.
I’m not convinced we’d get great value for him. So I’d error on the FSU side of better safe than sorry. And there’s little lost in the process.
I agree, and I think there are a few other A’s that are good sell-high candidates.
Moss? Reddick? Blevins?
Probably, but not going to bring great returns with the exception of maybe Reddick and who knows what we’d get there.
Hush.
Ok.
So did the A’s decline Drew’s option thinking that they can re-sign him for cheaper?
It was a mutual option, and Boras told them Drew wasn’t going to exercise his side of it.
A’s logo pumpkin glowing merrily on my porch!
Pics!
I’ll bring my camera home and get a pic tomorrow! It came out pretty well if I do say so!
I love this idea.
It’s glowing like a happy A’s moon over my zombie barbie graveyard!
No one around here would recognize an A’s logo. It’s really not much of a place.
perfect!!!!
That is too fking cool.
WOW! That looks A’s-mazing.
Someone stole it last night :(
No! That’s horrible. People suck.
That sucks!!
We also had a tombstone and a zombie hand stolen from our yard last night. What is wrong with people?
nothing. but I love my new A’s jack o lantern and tombstone zombie.
WTF? Humans are shit.
Hmmm. Maybe this is the year I should break from the sharp pointed scary face genre and do this.
See that’s the thing! I am normally a very traditional pumpkin carver: triangle eyes, triangle nose, one-tooth smile. But this year, I needed to balance out all the Giants-mania with a little A’s love.
We used the stencil for the classic A’s logo and it worked great! (We scaled it up in Photoshop because the print out was pretty small for a pumpkin.)
Thanks for the stencil link! Made mine this morning.
Is there a term for a human who fails the Turing test?
Bob Geren.
LOL
Tagline!
oh shit.
We’re going to trade for Jimmy Rollins, aren’t we.
Thanks, and go As.
No, A-Rod. And then move him back to SS.
He’ll be
awesomeslightly above average for the first few weeks, then out for the season. Plus, probably only cost about $10M!That’s just ridiculous exaggeration. He won’t last weeks.
Wait. Are we including Spring Training in that weeks? How about the off season?
Perhaps it’s from the day he’s acquired.
You forgot the WBC
Like he’d be able to play in that.
I wonder if Cuba will want to borrow Cespy
For sure no
I wonder if the USA will want to borrow Cespy
heh
I know.
Im kind of surprised honestly that they didn’t make “Cuba” field a team of exiles and defectors based in Miami.
GM convinced me that Rollins wouldn’t be so bad. He’s a little overpaid (and a little overrated) but he’s a decent player and we could do a lot worse (Yuni is available!).
I’m pretty sure we can get Hanley for peanuts
I want some peanuts. Or some almonds. Yeah, almonds.
Chocolate covered?
Smoked.
Smoked chocolate? What’s that like?
I dunno, but I’d try it.
If it’s not done well, it tastes like mediocre chocolate with shitty liquid smoke flavoring added.
I haven’t had any that’s been done well, but YMMV.
I’m watching M*A*S*H and Hawkeye just called Frank a “hermaphroditic weasel.” Why have I never used this term before?
Because you are one?
You better start protecting your shins, sir.
I’ll have you know, my cousin once kicked me in the shins once and hurt himself doing it. I have shins of steel. You might want to am a little higher. My knees are knobbly.
Maybe because it’s offensive to intersexed people?
Actually, it’s probably you don’t own a cool maroon bathrobe like Hawkeye.
I had such a good time tonight. I went to a discussion group and met lots of cool people and got into a great conversation about German being the preferred language of meticulous dog trainers.
i’m happy you had a good night, dear one.
Sounds like an interesting conversation
Maybe it’s the preferred language of dogs who want to be trained meticulously.
SCHNELLER!!!
chili is done simmering. it’s really good even though its not made from scratch
Thanks, and go As.
enjoy
4 minutes.
when you’re with me you only need four minutes, because I’m so intense
Too bad you only get two.
Two minutes in heaven is better than one minute in heaven.
You say something like “Is that it?” But I know what you mean. You mean “Oh yeah, that’s it.”
happy (witchy) new year! may all of our dreams come true this year. may we all be healthy and happy!
Happy new year in its full green and gold glory.
Yay! Happy new year to you as well, Sister!
<3 i feel like we need fireworks! ;)
Yay. Happy new year!
safe travels, dear heart!
<3
WOOOOOOOO!
Thanks, and go As.
Happy new year! Now if only I had someone to kiss at midnight…
[ahem]
I didn’t think you’d kiss me. I have no tattoos.
